Working with site-resource tabs

With a few variations, you use the same techniques with all the tabs. This section describes the basic techniques. The following sections describe the variations.

To bring a site-resource tab to the front of its window:

Do one of the following:

  • Click the tab.
  • Drag an appropriate item to the tab, pause while the body of the tab comes to the front, and then continue dragging into the body itself. For example, drag a color to the Colors tab, pause, and continue dragging into the body of the tab.

  • Pausing with the pointer on the Color tab will bring the body of the tab to the front.

To add an item to a site-resource tab:

    Do one of the following:

  • Drag or paste the item into the tab.
  • Drag or paste the item into a palette or palette tab paired with the tab.

  • To rename an item in a site-resource tab:

1 Click the name of the item, pause, and click it again. This places the insertion point in the current name.

2 Type the new name, selecting, backspacing, and deleting as necessary.

Note: You can also rename an item in an Inspector as part of editing it.

To edit an item in a site-resource tab:

    1 Display the Inspector.

2 Select an item in the tab, opening a folder or group first if necessary.

3 Perform the edit in the Inspector. For more information, see Using inspectors with files and folders, Editing site URLs and e-mail addresses, Editing site font sets, and Editing site snippets.

To view site usage of an item in the Files, External, Colors, Fontsets, or Extras tab:

1 Click the Open In & Out Links Palatte button () on the toolbar, or choose Window > In & Out Link.

2 Select the item in the tab, opening a folder or group first if necessary.
